You were the most professional when you were doing your job…with such passion…. and the biggest joker of all when we weren’t on the stages. I will never forget the laughs that we had together: not so much at first because my level of English wasn’t too good, but as I understood you more, we had some great times together.

I still remember how you and Craig were always happy to help both me and my co-driver (Cándido Carrera) every time that we had a problem or a doubt; you never said no.

I can normally control myself in difficult situations and rarely cry, but on Saturday I broke down and wept. I was in a rally and fortunately the engine broke; I was in no mood to carry on racing after hearing the news. You are the first colleague I have lost, but all of us, our families and friends know that it’s a risk that we take….it could happen to any of us. It is our passion, our work and cars are on our minds 24/7. We start dreaming about taking part in rallies in our childhood, and that’s how I know for sure that you were living the dream right until the last second.

Now you’ve taken your place with all the greatest names from our sport who are no longer with us, and one day we’ll meet again.
